French Freddie About Us

While living in the fashion capital of the world, Paris, France, in 2014, Auckland sisters Ashley and Courtney were inspired by the effortlessly chic sophistication of French women.

Parisian women became their muse, and the sisters returned home to New Zealand to develop French Freddie with their fashion-savvy mother, Susan Herbert.

It had been a lifelong dream of Susan’s to create a fashion label – she’d worked in the industry for years but had struggled to find tops, shirts and jackets that offered a tailored fit and suited her lifestyle.

The mother and daughter trio were driven to design beautiful garments that everyday women could pair with pants, shorts or skirts for any occasion – from laid-back lunches with the ladies to bold boardroom meetings.

Combining their background in fashion, interior design and marketing, the family created a premium fashion brand with one goal in mind – to empower women to look, feel and be successful.

A few trips to China to visit three sisters who run a boutique factory where their designs are transformed into high quality garments and (voilà!) French Freddie was born.

The collective effort of these six women across these two countries brings premium garments made from luxury fabrics and embellishments to New Zealanders at an affordable price.

Driven to empower women to make sophisticated and stylish outfit choices, French Freddie ensures every woman steps out with complete confidence.
